Quentin is the main character of the story, as well as the narrator. The story focuses on his experiences in his life with Margo as well as the obsession he acquires with finding her after she disappears. He’s a very quiet person and not as social as his other friends. Almost a goodie goodie who takes grammar too seriously.
As the main cause of conflict in the story, Margo is described as a mystery and becomes a source of obsession with Quentin as she ruins his life by running away after spending a night out on the town with him. She was one of the most popular girls until she ran away and missed prom and graduation. There was also that little bit where she put fish in “friends’” cars that caused a lot of people to hate her.
One of Quentin’s best friends, he is outgoing and later the boyfriend of Lacy. Seems like a sweet kid, refers to girls as “honeybunnies”. Sometimes known as “Bloody Ben”
Another one of Quentin’s best friends, Radar gets his name from the character on the TV show M*A*S*H* even though he looks nothing like him. He aids the group by constantly being on a website called Omnictionary (which is very similar to Wikipedia). His parents also own the worlds largest collection of black Santas.
Margo’s best friend as well as the girlfriend of Ben Starling, Around the middle of the book Lacey helps aid in the search for Margo and turns out to be valuable when trying to think like Margo.
